"The reality is that high quality systems are either unaffordable, or not available to everyone."
Logically, this makes sense. But I refuse to accept a fate of injustice. There must be something we can do besides only picking the lesser evil.
What if people took care of people
It appears in health care, that we have two options to take care of those who do not have healthcare. One, is let the government do it. Two, is take responsibility ourselves and trust that others will do the same. Though tragedy teaches us to distrust the human race, there is evidence that would argue in favor of our species. . It's evident that there is no shortage of people who want to help their fellow beings. There are over 1.5 Non-Governmental Organizations in the U.S. alone. These organizations have a huge positive impact on health, without help from the public sector.

Hobbes Beliefs brings Hobbes behavior
Healthcare provided by the government is becoming such a norm, that it has even halted the progress of NGOs. The public sector doesn't want any private organizations to "take over its territory." When we as a people believe each other to be bad, we believe we are doing or duty by giving the responsibility to the government instead of ourselves and our neighbors.

There is something to be done
It is to believe that the human race is good, and act accordingly. That means voting accordingly, lobbying accordingly, and especially taking care of the health needs of others accordingly. Why would we leave the good of our race to organizations when we could take responsibility and make an actual difference for our community.
